Dr. Alex Husveti was part of the medical team that introduced open heart surgery in Hungary.
After immigrating to Canada, he became a founding member of HuVAC (Hungarian Visual Artists
of Canada) and MASC (Medallic Art Society of Canada), and served on the Board of Directors at
the John B. Aird Gallery for 6 years. Dr. Husveti is a versatile artist with a mastery of skill in wood
engraving, print-making, bronze medals and painting. His works were featured in world anthologies
and international touring exhibits, and were sold by a gallery in New York.
Leonora Husveti-Frenette, B.A. has a background in psychology, magic and dance. During her
first five years in visual art she won 7 awards, including "Best in Mixed Media" and "Best in Show"
at SCI Ontario, and "Artist Without Barriers" at the Barrie Arts Awards. She participated in 80 juried
shows in Simcoe and GTA at prestigious galleries like the MacLaren Art Centre, Orillia Museum of
Art & History, Mississauga Living Arts Centre, Toronto's Joseph D. Carrier Gallery and others. She
held 7 solo exhibits and her work was featured in numerous publications and on Television
